We would be remiss if we didn’t mention our beloved capital city! Built by the Order of St. John in 1571 and named after Grandmaster Jean Parisot de la Valette, its founder, Valletta is the country’s administrative unit and one of the island’s cultural and business hubs. Also referred to as “The Silent City”, and lamp-lit by night, Mdina is fascinating to visit for its timeless atmosphere as well as its cultural and religious treasures. With impressive palaces, tourist attractions, delectable cafes and restaurants, and historical venues lining its narrow, shady streets – Mdina is truly one of Europe’s finest examples of an ancient walled city and extraordinary in its mix of medieval and Baroque architecture. A visit here is a must for anyone who wishes to visit Malta.

Rabat is a village located just outside Mdina. The name of the village means a 'suburb' in Semitic, as it was once the suburb of Mdina, the old capital city. The town is filled with the sites and archaeological relics, especially of the Roman period – such as St. Agatha’s Catacombs, St. Paul’s Grotto, and Casa Bernard. We highly recommend this village for history buffs and enthusiasts alike!

As the first home to the Knights of St. John, the Three Cities’ palaces, churches, forts and bastions are far older than Valletta’s. It is also claimed as the cradle of Maltese history, they have provided a home and fortress to almost every people who settled on the Islands. They offer every visitor an intriguing insight into Malta and its history, a slice of authentic village life, as well as a glimpse into Malta’s maritime fortunes.

This village is known as a popular tourist destination, and is the largest fishing village and harbour in Malta. It also has a reputation of offering a selection of the finest fish restaurants on the island. Traditional fishing boats (known as luzzus) among the sheltered harbour have been the subject of countless photoshoots! St. Peter’s Pool is also a popular diving spot on the island, so it’s the perfect place to use your gear.

Mgarr is a typical rural village, surrounded by rich farmland and vineyards and most of the local population is still engaged in agriculture.

Malta’s ‘sister island’ of Gozo is a ‘must’, the ultimate getaway from the hustle and bustle on the main island. The scenery provides a spectacular backdrop of limestone farmhouses, rolling hills and clear Mediterranean blue sea, almost wherever you turn. With the ‘seaside’ atmosphere of Marsalforn and Xlendi Bay, there are many excellent bars and restaurants as well as the plentiful history and stunning church architecture one can find also on Malta.
